About The Resort

How To Make A Reservation. 

Check-in & Check-out.

Check-in time : 3pm.
Check-out time : 11pm.

Guests may request an early check-in or a late check-out during the booking process. We do our best to honor such requests, however special accommodations depend on availability and are not guaranteed. These options are available upon request, based upon availability of the room. For late check-outs the following rates are applicable:

2 pm. – 6 pm : Late check-out fees at 50% of the prevailing rate. 
6 pm onwards : Check-outs later than 6:00pm will be charged 100% the prevailing rate for the full night.

Babby Sitting Service.

Secure in the knowledge that your children are in excellent hands you can leave your worries behind and once again enjoy some quality time on your own or with your partner. This service is provided up to 8 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Connecting Rooms.

Requests for connecting rooms should be made upon booking and are subject to availability upon arrival. 

Credit Card Policy

We are pleased to accept all major credit cards.
According to Indonesian law, settlement by credit card is charged in local currency. The resort takes no responsibility for subsequent exchange rates used by credit card companies after guests' departure. Credit card charges are subject to additional currency conversions by banks or credit card companies, which are not within the resort’s control and may impact the amount charged to a guest's credit card.

Currency Policy.

Please be advised that all room rates and charges are quoted in Indonesian Rupiah. Currency exchange service is available at the resort's reception. We ask that guests please remember to bring along their passports to help facilitate all transactions.

Handicapped Facilities.

Facilities for handicapped travelers, although limited, are available at our resort.

Kids Stay & Eat Free*

We understand that busy families need relaxing getaways to reconnect and have fun, and we think you shouldn’t have to break the budget on accommodations and dining while on vacations. We take the utmost care to ensure that all reasonable dietary and vegetarian requests are accommodated when visiting Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali. However, due to the nature of our offering we are unable to guarantee that any item will be completely allergen free. We would kindly request 24 hours notice if you have any specific dietary requirements.

Non-Smoking Policy.

The resort is committed to providing guests and associates with an enhanced quality of air and environment by providing 100% non-smoking guest rooms and suites. Designated smoking areas are available in public areas.

Pet Policy.

While we greatly appreciate our guests' four-legged companions, the resort does not accept pets at this time.

Silent Day : Sunday 17 March 2018 and  Friday 7 March 2019

Nyepi, known as the “Day of Silence,” marks the celebration of the Balinese New Year in the Hindu Lunar calendar. A spectacular procedure of ceremonies, parades of great bamboo monsters, and fireworks occur on the Eve of Nyepi, followed by a day of total silence and seclusion. The community strongly believes that if the island is silent and dark, the bad spirits will leave and the new year will start in peace. During Nyepi, from 6am until 6am the next day, the island stops. Nobody is allowed in the streets, use of electricity is restricted, and the international airport is closed.

In 2018, Nyepi will fall on Sunday, March 17 and Friday, March 7 in 2019. Please note that check-in and checkout will not be possible on Nyepi Day, and Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) will be closed. Some of the resort facilities will operate as usual; however, there will be no transportation services to and from the resort, and televisions will not be available. Lights will be dimmed inside and there will be no outdoor lighting. 

We kindly invite you to respect this sacred day and observe these restrictions. Normal activity in Bali will resume at 6am on Monday, March 17, 2018 and Saturday March 7 in 2019.


About Bali


Ngurah Rai International Airport referred to as Denpasar or DPS on air tickets, serves all international and domestic flights. The airport is centrally located in relation to the main tourist areas of the island: 10 minutes to Kuta, 20 minutes to Jimbaran Bay, 25 minutes to Nusa Dua, 30 minutes to Sanur, 60 minutes to Tanah Lot and 90 minutes to Ubud.

ATM Machine.

There are many Automated Teller Machines (ATM) located throughout Kuta and Bali. The nearest ATM to the hotel is located a quick 2 minute walk along Jalan Wana Segara on the left hand side.

Best Buys.

Shopping in Bali can offer excellent bargains, and best buys include modern artwork, leather goods, casual summer clothing, shoes, jeans, CDs, T-shirts, furniture and pottery as well as souvenirs. Discovery Shopping Mall A four-level shopping center with a large range of items from sporting goods in fashionable outlets, home appliances, fashion apparel for men and women to kids collections. Visitors also can have beauty services at hair salons. Kuta Art Market has a multitude of shops selling a wide variety of goods including summer dresses, sarongs and handicrafts. You can find some good pieces if you look carefully and smart bargain.

Business Hours.

Offices generally follow the 9-to-5 format of the western world. Most government offices are open from 8 am until 4 pm Monday to Friday, visitors should target 8 a.m. to 12 noon to avoid delay.


Emails and internet.
There are many Internet cafes throughout Bali. Stay connected during your stay with complimentary Wi-Fi access throughout the resort.

Telephone and Facsimile.
The country dialing code for Indonesia is +62. Phone cards are available everywhere. Bali’s directory assistance is 108. Your in-room phone has international direct dialing (IDD) access, simply press 9 for an outside line followed by 007, then your country code, area code and phone number.


Smart casual attire is suitable for even the island’s most fashionable restaurants. Sarongs and sashes are mandatory when visiting local temples. We have some sashes and sarongs available to borrow from the Resort Hub.


The following countries offer consular services in Bali: Australia, Austria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the United States.

Credit Card.

Major credit cards are accepted at most restaurants and many businesses. Note that while prices are often advertised in U.S. dollars or Indonesian rupiah, all credit card sales are transacted in rupiah. As a result, all final charges shown on your monthly statement will reflect inter-bank exchange rates and possibly even a surcharge.

Dietary Matters.

Most special dietary requirements can be catered for by giving advance notice to restaurant staff.


Tourists who have visited Bali have long been distressed by the overwhelming number of suffering dogs on the island. No-one knows accurately how many dogs exist in Bali but estimates have been as high as one million. Many of these dogs suffer from preventable parasitic and infectious diseases and major trauma from roadside accidents. Local government program on rabies vaccination is ongoing. According to www.balistreetdogs.org.au it can be confirmed that there was a 70% reduction in rabies cases.


Self-drive car and motorcycle rentals are available for those holding an international driving permit. Bali’s congested and unpredictable roads are not the place to learn how to ride a motorcycle, also Bali’s rules of the road can prove frustrating for the uninitiated. All major points of interest are within only a few hours drive.


220 volts at 50 cycles’s alternating current. Most local electrical outlets utilize a two-pin plug.

Foreign Exchange/currency.

The Indonesian currency is Rupiah. If changing money outside the hotel, we recommend you to use licensed moneychangers or banks, ask whether commission is charged and always personally count your money before leaving the counter. You can also exchange at Front Office.


Open weekdays from 8.30am to 4.30pm in the Airport District, the Immigration Office may be able to extend your Visas (each case is individually assessed). It is advised that applicants arrive early and wear proper attire.


Indonesian is the common language of Bali together with Balinese, both are spoken by the local population. English is widely used in tourist areas.

Medical Facilities.

There are three main hospitals in Bali with English speaking staff. Bali International Medical Centre (BIMC) is located on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai 100 X, Kuta, International SOS clinic & Medical Assistance is located on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai 505 X, Kuta, and  Siloam Hospital located at Sunset Road 818, Kuta.


There are many well-stocked drug stores in Kuta and throughout Bali.

Phone Cards.

SIM cards are readily available in Bali that can also be used for international calls. Prices start from RP10, 000. Telephone companies providing SIM cards include: IM3, SIMPATI, and ProXL.

Places of Worship.

Many religious denominations are represented in Bali. Please press "need anything" button on your phone for a schedule of services and locations.  The Puja Mandala complex near Nusa Dua houses Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, Roman Catholic and Protestants places of worship in a single shared locale. 


Bali’s population is approximately 3,8 million, spread across eight regencies. The most highly populated areas are the island’s southern districts. 

Postal Services.

Please present mail to Front Office for postage. The Indonesian postal service has a complete range of mail and parcel services, including Express Mail Service (EMS). Major international courier services such as DHL operate in Bali.


Hinduism is the predominant religion of Bali with minorities of Muslems, Christians and Buddhists.

Sea Access.

Travel from Bali to adjacent Lombok Island is available by car and passengers ships from the ports of Padangbai and Benoa on Bali’s east coast. Lombok is also serviced by fast passenger ships and catamarans. Cruise ships also call at Padangbai or Benoa, depending on their size.

Size and Topography.

The Island of Bali covers an area of 5,623 square kilometers. At its widest points the island measures 90 kilometers by 150 kilometers. The highest point on the island is Mount Agung at 3,142 meters.


There is a growing sensitivity to the dangers of passive smoke and it’s polite to always check before you light up in public settings. Those who enjoy smoking should not leave Bali without sampling the aromatic clove cigarettes or kretek loved by Indonesian smokers, or the fine cigars produced in Lombok or Central Java.

Tax and Service Charges.

An 11% development tax (plus a 10% service charge) is added to most hotel and restaurant bills. However in this resort, the menus for food & beverage and spa are all nett to avoid any surprises when you receive the bill.

Taxi & Transportation.

There are several reputable metered taxi companies operating in Bali. Insist that taxis use their meters or be sure to agree on the fare before you get in. Public transport, in the form of small local vans and intercity buses, operate at very reasonable rates. 

Television Networks.

Indonesia has numerous national television networks, many broadcasting some entertainment and news programs in English.

Time Zone.

Bali time is +8 hours from Greenwich Mean Time/UTC. 


Tip to drivers and guides is always appreciated. Airport porters are entitled to a certain amount of charge for each bag carried.


Water is generally not potable in Bali. Bottled water is available everywhere in Bali. 


Bali enjoys a warm tropical climate averaging 25-34 degrees Celsius (77-91 degrees Fahrenheit), depending on the season or altitude. The rainy season from approximately November to April often brings late afternoon showers of brief duration, not likely to disrupt scheduled tour programs.
